Career

Blanchard’s introduction to television acting came at the tender age of eight with a role in a McDonald’s commercial. This early exposure led to her participation in the beloved Canadian children’s series “The Kids of Degrassi Street.” She continued to explore various roles, appearing in “The Littlest Hobo” and “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”

Her rise to prominence was marked by her role in the American comedy series “Clueless,” where she portrayed Cher Horowitz, a well-to-do orphan who takes it upon herself to manage the romantic affairs of those around her. To immerse herself in this role, Blanchard visited various high schools in Los Angeles, absorbing the local culture. Her performance was complemented by co-stars such as Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, and Elisa Donovan.

Blanchard’s career continued to flourish with her role in the 1999 horror film “The Rage: Carrie 2,” starring Emily Bergl. The following year, she appeared in Todd Phillips’ teenage comedy “Road Trip,” centered around a young man who mistakenly sends a videotape showcasing his infidelity to his girlfriend. Blanchard portrayed Tiffany, the girlfriend caught in this predicament.

In the early 2000s, Blanchard took on the role of Roxanne Richardson in the TV series “7th Heaven,” which followed the trials and tribulations of a typical Protestant family. Her career expanded with her performances in the comedy “Without a Paddle” and the drama-thriller “Where the Truth Lies,” featuring Colin Firth and Kevin Bacon. Additionally, she secured a recurring role as Nancy in the sitcom “Peep Show.”
