Born in Toronto, Ontario, on March 19, 1976, Rachel Elise Blanchard was recognized for her distinctive looks from a young age. She spent her early school years at Humbercrest Public School before attending Havergal College, an all-girls school. Blanchard then pursued higher education at Queen’s University in Kingston, focusing on psychology. However, her burgeoning acting career led her to leave university.

Blanchard’s introduction to television acting came at the tender age of eight with a role in a McDonald’s commercial.
