Tarek Yassin Skylar entered the world on December 5, 1995. His family resided in the Canary Islands, a Spanish territory. Tenerife is where this future star calls home. Skylar was raised in a diverse household; his father, Hasan Yassin, is of Arab descent, while his mother, Gwen Skylar, hails from England. Their paths crossed during a holiday in the Canary Islands.

Spending his youth by the Atlantic Ocean, he developed a passion for surfing, even entering competitions. Having completed his basic education, Skylar chose to pursue a career in crafting surfboards, catering to the needs of professional surfers. Eventually, seeking a change from the coastal lifestyle, he opted to relocate to the United Kingdom.

Taz Skylar embarked on his cinematic journey in 2015 with a brief appearance in the short film “Poison,” marking the inception of his career in the industry. He also featured in movies like “Venom,” “Beauty,” and “Trophy.” Parallel to his film roles, Skylar found considerable success in theater, a domain where his talents shone brighter. He also ventured into scriptwriting, a skill that nudged him toward producing his own cinematic works.

By 2016, Skylar had made the UK his permanent residence. He had initially considered joining the British Army but was hindered by a failed medical exam due to a concussion sustained from a car accident prior to the examination. Advised to wait a year before attempting the commission again, Skylar ultimately chose not to pursue this path a second time, opting instead to explore other avenues.

This setback in his military aspirations led Skylar to uncover a knack for writing, sparked unexpectedly by a friend’s tales of post-traumatic stress disorder among young veterans. This inspiration birthed the narrative “Warheads,” which not only made its way to the theater stage but also saw Skylar in the lead role, showcasing his multifaceted talents.

2018 saw Skylar stepping into the director’s shoes with the short film “Multi-Facial,” which garnered widespread acclaim and put Skylar on the radar of many in the industry. His breakthrough came in 2019 with the role of Sergeant Dawes in “The Kill Team,” marking his first significant entry into mainstream cinema. The following year, he was seen in “Villain.”

Another notable project was “Boiling Point,” where Skylar had the chance to collaborate with actors like Stephen Graham, Vinette Robinson, and Jason Flemyng. The year 2022 introduced him to the audience of “Agatha Raisin” in its fourth season, alongside Ashley Jensen, Jamie Glover, Katy Wix, and a roster of British talents, where Skylar’s character, Harry Beam, featured in a couple of episodes.

In 2021, Skylar’s audition for the series “One Piece” caught the attention of director Marc Jobst, who cast him as Sanji, joining forces with Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jeff Ward, and Jacob Gibson for a series that spanned eight episodes. This role in “One Piece” marked the pinnacle of Skylar’s career, establishing him in a major project that showcased his acting prowess to a broader audience.

Taz Skylar remains unmarried. At present, he has no intentions of settling down with a family, dedicating all his energies towards nurturing his acting career.
