Tarek Yassin Skylar entered the world on December 5, 1995. His family resided in the Canary Islands, a Spanish territory. Tenerife is where this future star calls home. By 2016, Skylar had made the UK his permanent residence. He had initially considered joining the British Army but was hindered by a failed medical exam due to a concussion sustained from a car accident prior to the examination. Advised to wait a year before attempting the commission again, Skylar ultimately chose not to pursue this path a second time, opting instead to explore other avenues.
This setback in his military aspirations led Skylar to uncover a knack for writing, sparked unexpectedly by a friend’s tales of post-traumatic stress disorder among young veterans. This inspiration birthed the narrative “Warheads,” which not only made its way to the theater stage but also saw Skylar in the lead role, showcasing his multifaceted talents.
2018 saw Skylar stepping into the director’s shoes with the short film “Multi-Facial,” which garnered widespread acclaim and put Skylar on the radar of many in the industry. His breakthrough came in 2019 with the role of Sergeant Dawes in “The Kill Team,” marking his first significant entry into mainstream cinema. The following year, he was seen in “Villain.”
