Adria Arjona

Adria Arjona Torres was born in the vibrant city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 25, 1992. Her life took an international turn shortly after her birth when her family moved to Mexico. Arjona’s childhood years were spent absorbing the cultural richness of Mexico City, where she lived until the age of 12. Being the daughter of the renowned musician Ricardo Arjona, she was exposed to a world filled with artistic influences from a very young age.

At the age of 12, Adria’s life took another turn when she moved to Miami. Here, she attended high school and it was during these formative years that she solidified her decision to pursue acting as a career. At 18, she relocated to New York City.

Her time in New York City was a period of both challenge and growth. Arjona enrolled in a three-month acting course at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the acting profession. Despite facing initial difficulties in securing acting roles, these obstacles only served to fortify her resolve and commitment to her craft.

Adria Arjona’s ascent in the world of television began in earnest in 2014 with her participation in the series “Unforgettable.” Here, she acted alongside Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh, showcasing her talent in a mainstream setting. This role was soon followed by her appearance in two episodes of the series “Person of Interest,” where she portrayed the character Dani Silva, sharing the screen with renowned actors like Sarah Shahi and Jim Caviezel.

In 2015, Arjona took a significant step in her career with her appearance in the film “Little Galicia.” Although the movie did not markedly elevate her fame, it coincided with her being offered a role in the second season of “True Detective.” In this critically acclaimed series, Arjona was cast as Emily, sharing the stage with notable actors such as Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch. Concurrently, Arjona featured in the series “Narcos” and appeared in the short film “Eos.”

In 2016, Arjona’s career continued to flourish as she took on the role of Dorothy in the series “Emerald City.” This role allowed her to share the screen with notable actors such as Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ana Ularu, Mido Hamada, and Joely Richardson, further showcasing her ability to hold her own amongst a talented cast. Arjona’s filmography at this time expanded to include significant projects like “Anomalous” alongside Omar Lewis, “The Belko Experiment” with John Gallagher Jr., and “Pacific Rim Uprising” where she starred with John Boyega and Scott Eastwood.

In 2019, Adria Arjona took on a new challenge in the series “Good Omens,” where she worked alongside Michael Sheen, David Tennant, and Jon Hamm. In this series, Arjona transformed into the character Anathema Device, a practicing occultist tasked with preventing the Apocalypse. This role was a testament to her ability to delve into complex characters and bring them to life with authenticity and depth. At the same time, she appeared in significant film roles in “Triple Frontier” alongside Oscar Isaac and “6 Underground” with Ryan Reynolds.

The year 2020 saw Arjona in the lesser-known series “Monsterland,” followed by her appearance in the film “Sweet Girl.” The year 2022 was particularly notable as it marked the premiere of two major movies featuring Arjona: “Morbius” alongside Matt Smith and Jared Leto, and “Father of the Bride” with Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan. Additionally, she engaged in the creation of the series “Irma Vep” and “Andor,” in both of which she played leading roles.

Adria Arjona’s personal life, in contrast to her public career, is characterized by a sense of privacy and discretion. Additionally, Arjona played significant roles in the upcoming films “Say Her Name” with Elizabeth Perkins and “Los Frikis” with Hector Medina, both scheduled for release in 2024.
